Wadih Manneh (Arab Bank Switzerland): Private markets beyond the promise of liquidity

At Geneva Wealth Day, Wadih Manneh discusses the growing role of private markets and why liquidity terms and manager selection deserve closer scrutiny.

Private markets are becoming more accessible. Understanding what investors can expect from them remains essential.

Speaking at Geneva Wealth Day, held on September 17, 2026, at Westhive in Geneva, Wadih Manneh, CFA, Head of Private Markets at Arab Bank Switzerland, describes a market shaped by growing client demand, increasingly specialised managers and evolving fund structures.

Evergreen funds are part of that evolution. Yet their liquidity provisions should not obscure the long-term nature of the underlying investments. For Manneh, explaining their features and limitations is a central responsibility of advisers. These funds should not be approached like liquid ETFs or bonds.

The same scrutiny applies to manager selection. Beyond reported returns, investors need to understand how performance was achieved, how teams work together and what happens when key individuals leave.

In the interview below, Manneh explains why broader access to private markets calls for a deeper understanding of both the investment structure and the people managing it.
